This excellent example of a hand carved cluster of mushrooms depicts 3 mushrooms growing from a small log. The wood used in this carving is known as 'parasite wood', a fast growing vine-like plant which uses other plants as a host. It exhibits flower-like blooms along its length where it anchors to its host making this wood an intriguing material for carvings.
